It all starts with data….

With architectural plans in our back pocket and an automatic weather station in hand the CERES Global 2013 team arrived in Jamnya with a very warm welcome from the students and teachers of the Jamnya Primary School.  Following a few very animated rounds of the hokey-pokey and a delicious cup of chia to calm us down again we set out to survey the area that will be the site of the 2014 build.

A weather station that was kindly donated by Norditech and was erected on top of the existing primary school building with the valuable assistance of a very adept female student. The station will collect valuable microclimatic information such as temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, rainfall, wind speed and direction, UV and illiminance and this information will help us make informed decision about small scale renewable energy systems selection, water harvesting and supply options and building orientation and ventilation requirements.MetStation
